Tom Arthur, MSP for Renfrewshire South, recently met with the staff of The Wee Café at No. 47 High Street in Johnstone to present them with a copy of a motion he lodged in the Scottish Parliament congratulating them on their fundraising efforts for St Vincent’s Hospice in Howwood.

 

The staff and customers raised £955 by donating a day’s takings, raffle sales and very generously, all staff tips.

 

Chatting to the staff, they explained that they were happy to support the charity who do such valuable work in the constituency and thanked their customers for their generosity.

 

Commenting, Tom said:

 

“The Wee Café are at the heart of the community in Johnstone and it is wonderful to see the staff and customers come together to raise money for St Vincent’s Hospice.

 

“The café has a very welcoming atmosphere, and the staff are always ready to greet you with a friendly smile.

 

“The fundraising will help to provide valuable support for those who need it and I wish them the very best with their future efforts.”
