Tom was born in Paisley and raised in Barrhead, where he attended Cross Arthurlie Primary and Barrhead High School. He studied music at the University of Glasgow and worked as a piano teacher, keyboardist and company director before entering Parliament. Tom lives locally with his wife and their two pugs.
First elected to the Scottish Parliament in 2016, Tom now represents the Renfrewshire West and Levern Valley constituency and serves as Minister for Business and Fair Work.
Tom’s constituency office is in Johnstone. He and his team are available to help local people, listen to concerns and work with communities across the constituency.
