Tom Arthur, MSP for Renfrewshire South constituency, was delighted to welcome Jennifer Phin of A.C. Whyte in Barrhead to the recent Business in the Parliament Conference at Holyrood.

The conference aims to facilitate engagement between businesses and politicians and forms part of a regular and on-going programme of engagement with business organisations and senior business leaders across Scotland. This year’s conference was the 12th to be held since 2004, with the theme of “Young at Heart: Beating the Drum for Scottish Business in the Year of Young People.”

Speaking after the conference, Tom said:

“It was an honour to be able to welcome Jennifer to the Scottish Parliament for this important event to support businesses from all across Scotland.

“A.C. Whyte have done tremendous work in supporting young people and have a real commitment to enabling them to develop skills required by the business industry, and so being able to take part during the Year of Young People was particularly special.

“It’s vitally important that our businesses feel supported, and events such as these are a great opportunity to engage Scottish business in discussion about how to encourage sustainable growth in Scotland’s economy.”
