Tom Arthur, MSP for Renfrewshire South recently met with the owners of the Central Café in Barrhead to present them with a copy of a motion he lodged in the Scottish Parliament congratulating them as winners of the Golden Cone Awards 2017.

 

Central Café is one of Barrhead’s hidden gems and is known by locals as the best place to go for both a meal and a cone, the family-run business has been making ice cream with its secret recipe for more than 50 years.

 

Commenting, Tom said:

 

“I am delighted to present the motion to Riccardo and Lisa in recognition of their award.

 

“Having grown up in Barrhead I can wholeheartedly vouch for the quality of their ice cream and have happy memories of visiting the café as a child.

 

“Riccardo and Lisa Crolla, are delighted to have won this award and have told me they would like to thank their customers for being so loyal and supportive.

 

“The café has been part of the local community for such a long time and I would like to congratulate the Crolla family on their achievements.”
