Tom Arthur, MSP for Renfrewshire South constituency, spoke in support for our Armed Forces in a debate last week in the Scottish Parliament.

The debate recognised the contribution of our Armed Forces and the role of the Scottish Government in supporting those who have served and ensuring they have access to opportunities.

Speaking following the debate Tom said,

“I am extremely proud to have taken part in this debate to pay tribute to our Veterans.

“It was especially poignant to be able to speak of the service of my grandfather, Arthur McGettigan, and the contribution that he was able to make to his community here.

“It is the dedication, professionalism and courage of our armed forces that guarantees each of us, here and beyond, the privilege of living in a free and democratic society.

“I look forward to continuing to support our forces and veterans community and to supporting the Scottish Government’s work to ensure that members of the armed forces, veterans and their families receive the best support and access to opportunities across Scotland.”
