This week, Renfrewshire South MSP Tom Arthur met with local Business Improvement District (BID) Manager Andy Dunlop to present him with a motion lodged in the Scottish Parliament recognising the success of the inaugural All About Barrhead Awards earlier this year.

The All About Barrhead Awards helped put local people, organisations and businesses in the spotlight, with the awards ceremony taking place at the Dalmeny Park House Hotel on 31 May.

Commenting, Tom said:

“I was delighted to meet with All About Barrhead and present a copy of my parliamentary motion recognising the fantastic inaugural All About Barrhead Awards.

“I was able to attend the event and see first-hand the celebration of excellence within the local community, and I hope it becomes an annual event in Barrhead’s calendar going forward. The success of the night was a real testament to the dedication of All About Barrhead BID, who have worked hard to ensure the event went off without a hitch.

“There is a positivity and self-belief in Barrhead that is palpable and the Barrhead BID are playing a big part in it.”

BID Manager Andy Dunlop added:

“We were delighted to be recognised for the work we are doing in the town – especially when it’s also highlighting the excellent work that so many people do throughout Barrhead, which is the exact reason we started these Awards.

“There are many great businesses, organisations and individuals making a difference in the community and we’re just thrilled to be part of it.”
